Counsellor and Family Support Co-ordinator
The Counselling and Family Support service is for people who have been diagnosed with any type of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, for people who have a relative or friend with dementia, and for anyone who is concerned that they, or someone they know, may have a type of dementia.
The Counselling and Family Support service provides you with the opportunity to talk in confidence with a trained and experienced professional about your worries or concerns and to help you access any further information and support you may require.
People can come by themselves or together with other family members, for just one session or for more sessions over a period of time. Appointments are usually in our JAA Offices but if this is difficult, appointments can be at a person’s home, a care home, hospital or another convenient location.
There are no charges for this service.
